The physicians and staff of the Center for Digestive Health believe
in setting the highest standards of care for our patients. We appreciate
the opportunity to take care of your gastrointestinal health.
Our Practice
The first physician to join the practice was Sante D. Bologna, MD, FACP,
when Troy Gastroenterology was established in 1992. John R. Weber, MD
and Richard T. Wille, MD, joined us in 1997, followed by Partha S. Nandi,
MD, FACP, in 1999 and M. Emin Donat, MD FRCPC, in 2000. The practice
expanded again in 2002 with the addition of Leonard G Quallich, III, MD
and Anezi E. Bakken, MD, MS.Our physicians are affiliated with William Beaumont Hospital
in Troy. For your convenience,
endoscopic procedures are performed at William Beaumont Hospital - Troy,
Surgical Centers of Michigan, conveniently located in the Unasource
Health Building, 4600 Investment Drive, Suite 270, Troy, Michigan, and
Unasource Surgery Center located at 4550 Investment Drive, Suite 100,
Troy, Michigan 48098.
Appointments
We see patients by appointment only. To schedule an office visit please call the office where you wish
to be seen. Our doctors are available for appointments between 8:30 AM
and 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Our receptionists will be happy to assist
you.
Endoscopy Procedures
If you are a new patient that was referred to our practice by your
primary care physician, we require a written request outlining the
procedure requested and a diagnosis. This information is usually faxed
to our office and a member of our scheduling department will call you to
set up the procedure.
Our Specialty
Our physicians specialize in gastroenterology, which covers all
aspects of the digestive system. This includes diagnostic endoscopic
procedures and ultrasounds, liver disease studies, and motility studies.
Procedures performed at William Beaumont Hospital Troy, Surgical Centers of
Michigan, and Unasource Surgical Center include:
Colonoscopy
The endoscopic examination of the colon using a
flexible fiberoptic endoscope.

Gastroscopy/EGD
The endoscopic examination of the esophagus, stomach
and duodenum.

The endoscopic examination of the bile ducts, pancreas

Endoscopic Ultrasound
A combined endoscopic and ultrasound technique used to
examine the esophagus, stomach, and pancreas. Our

Liver Biopsy
Esophageal Manometry
24 HR. PH Probe
Flexible Sigmoidoscopy
The examination of the first 60 cm of the colon.
This is usually performed as a cancer and colon polyp screening
process. Our

Procedures performed in the office include:
Remicade® Infusions
Remicade Infusions
may be given to patients with Inflammatory Bowel Diseases such
as Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis, and are given in the
office by our Physician’s Assistant and or our Nurse. A
consultation with one of our physicians is required before
scheduling this procedure. Area Gastroenterology Physicians can
also refer their patient to our office to have their REMICADE
Infusions. Please call our office for more details.
REMICADE may also be
given for a diagnosis of Rheumatoid Arthritis, with a referral
from their Rheumatologist. Please contact our office for more
details.

Patient Inquiries
If you have a question for the physician or nurse, please call during
normal office hours. The receptionist will take full details of your
question or problem, and she will direct your message to the appropriate
person. Your call will be returned in a timely manner.
For prescription refills please have ready the
prescription name, strength, number of times per day you take it, and
your pharmacy name and phone number. Please allow two full business days
for your
request to be processed. For any prescription issued by a doctor who is
not part of our group, please request refills from that physician.
Insurances and Payments
We accept most major insurance and as a courtesy to you, will be happy
to bill any covered benefit direct to your insurance company. However,
health plans vary and prior to your visit, please check with your
insurance to establish your responsibility for deductibles, co-pays and
non-covered items.
Please bring your insurance card with you at each visit and notify us
of any insurance changes at the time you schedule an appointment. If you
are a member of an HMO, or managed care insurance, you must have the
necessary referral or authorization for the visit or procedure. Without
the correct referral, your appointment may have to be canceled, or you
may be responsible for payment in full for that visit.
We appreciate your payment at the time of your office visit for all
co payments, deductibles, and non-covered services. For your convenience
we accept payment by cash, check, Visa, and Mastercard. If you have any
billing questions or need to set up a payment plan, please call 248-844-9710 and our operator will connect you to our billing
department.
