National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month

National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month is a collaborative effort to increase awareness that colorectal cancer is largely preventable, treatable and beatable through regular screenings, a healthy lifestyle and expert clinical care.

Colorectal cancer is the third most common cause of cancer, and the second leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States. Approximately one-third of all patients with colorectal cancer die from the disease.

All average-risk patients older than 50 years, and all high-risk patients, should be screened regularly for colorectal cancer.
