Infrared CoagulationCenter for Digestive Health, 4600 Investment Drive, Unasource Building, #380, Troy MI 48098 (248) 267-5025. Location - Center for Digestive Health, WellPointe Building, 1701 E. South Blvd, #300, Rochester Hills, MI 48307 (248) 844-9710. The Procedure Infrared Coagulation (IRC) is the most widely used office treatment for hemorrhoids and is preferred over the other methods because it is fast, well-tolerated by patients, and virtually problem-free. A small probe contacts the area above the hemorrhoid, exposing the tissue to a burst of infrared light for about one second. This coagulates the veins above the hemorrhoid causing it to shrink and recede. The patient may feel a sensation of heat very briefly, but it is generally not painful. Therefore anesthetic is usually not required. Preparation The Prep for Infrared Coagulation will be one fleet enema one hour prior to procedure. If your appointment is a morning appointment you should have no breakfast. If you have an afternoon appointment, eat no lunch. about us | our doctors | home | procedures | locations | e-services |
