At Center for Digestive Health we are committed to ensuring that our patients have access to novel diagnostics and therapies that have the potential to improve health outcomes and quality of life.  We value research and are proud of our partnership with Clinical Research Institute of Michigan (CRIM). Over the past 12 years, CRIM has been involved in over 300 studies, enrolling thousands of patients (not including blood draw studies).

Leading our research department is Dr. Ronald P. Fogel, nationally-renowned researcher and founder of CRIM.

Ronald Fogel, MD is a board certified gastroenterologist with extensive experience in all areas of gastrointestinal disease and prevention.  Dr. Fogel is a graduate of McGill University and completed residencies at Sir Mortimer B. Davis- Jewish General Hospital and the University of California.  He completed a research fellowship in gastroenterology at Tufts University.

Dr. Fogel is dedicated to the prevention and aggressive treatment of gastrointestinal disease.  His special areas of interest include the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease and irritable bowel syndrome as well as screening and prevention/education for colon cancer.  He is committed to providing the highest quality medical care with compassion and respect for patients and their families.  In addition to his work with a wide variety of patients, Dr. Fogel is also actively involved in clinical research.

Before starting the Digestive Health Center of Michigan, Dr. Fogel served for 13 years as the head of gastroenterology services at Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, Michigan.

Along with Dr. Fogel, Joe Palmer – CRIM’s Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, and staff of highly qualified study coordinators and research assistants have over 40 years of combined research experience.
